How to order an Apostille Certificate from the Hawaii Lieutenant Governor

An original or certified copy is required. You cannot order a certified copy of your articles and request an Apostille at the same time. We recommend mailing the order. Normal processing takes up to one week, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $1. Expedited service is not available. Always provide the name of the country needing an Apostille.

Cover letter should include a daytime phone number for possible questions. You must enclose payment for the fee, an original or certified copy of the document and the Application for Apostille or Certification of Document form.

In Person:
We recommend that you have the completed Application for Apostille or Certification of Document form, a certified copy or original document and payment for the fee prepared in advance for faster in person filing.

Do you need to order a certified copy at the same time or does the fee include a certified copy?

A certified copy cannot be ordered at the same time. Certified copies are processed through the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Office and must be requested prior to an Apostille request. However, if also requesting certified copies for the Apostille, please make note of that fact on your copy request.

How much does it cost to obtain a Hawaii State Apostille?
