How to order an Apostille Certificate from the Maine Secretary of State
An original or certified copy is required. You can order a certified copy and request an Apostille at the same time. We recommend faxing the order, only if you are requesting the certified copy at the same time. Normal processing takes up to 2 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $10.00. Expedited service is not available. Always provide the name of the country needing a Maine Apostille or Certificate of Authentication.

In Person:Requested documents can possibly be provided the same day. However, it may take up to 7 business days, depending on the current workload. You must provide a certified copy or original document. You will want to have your payment handy.
