An original or certified copy is required. You can order a certified copy and request an Apostille at the same time. We recommend faxing the order, only if you are requesting the certified copy at the same time. Normal processing takes up to 2 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $10. Expedited service is not available. Always provide the name of the country needing a Maine Apostille or Certificate of Authentication.

Called in requests are accepted only if requesting the certified copy at the same time, and they can give you a more specific timeframe for processing. You will want to have the order form information and credit card handy when making your call.

In Person:
Requested documents can possibly be provided the same day. However, it may take up to 7 business days, depending on the current workload. You must provide a certified copy or original document. You will want to have your payment handy.

Do you need to order a certified copy at the same time or does the fee include a certified copy?

A certified copy can be ordered at the same time. This fee does not include a certified copy.
