How to order an Apostille Certificate from the New Jersey Secretary of State

An original or certified copy is required. You can order a certified copy of your articles and request an Apostille at the same time. Normal processing takes up to 3 weeks, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $25.00. Expedited service is available for $15.00 more and should take less than 8.5 hours, plus additional time for mailing. Always provide the name of the country needing a New Jersey Apostille or Certificate of Authentication.

Cover letter must include the name of the country, payment or credit card information, address the documents should be mailed to after processing, and a daytime phone number for possible questions. You must enclose an original or certified copy of the document, or a request for a certified copy of the document.

Counter service has optional expedited processing which requires an additional fee. You must provide a certified copy or original document. You will want to have your payment handy.

Do you need to order a certified copy at the same time or does the fee include a certified copy?

A certified copy can be ordered at the same time. This fee does not include a certified copy.

How much does it cost to obtain an New Jersey Apostille?

$25.00 per document for normal processing.
$40.00 for expedited processing (in person or fax only).

Is expedited processing available?

Yes. An expedited service fee of $15.00 is required, in addition to the regular $25.00 fee.
