How to order an Apostille Certificate from the South Carolina Secretary of State

An original or certified copy is required. You can order a certified copy of your articles and request an Apostille at the same time. Normal processing takes up to 2 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $2. Expedited service is not but in person orders are processed while you wait. Always provide the name of the country needing a South Carolina Apostille or Certificate of Authentication.

Requested documents can usually be provided while you wait. You must provide a certified copy or original document. You will want to have your payment handy.

Do you need to order a certified copy at the same time or does the fee include a certified copy?

A certified copy can be ordered at the same time, but you must write separate checks for the fees. This fee does not include a certified copy.
