What are the options and different ways you can change your Alabama registered agent?

All you need to do is provide the completed Change of Registered Agent or Registered Office by Entity form in duplicate with the filing fee, to the Secretary of State by mail, in person, fax or attached to an email.  The Registered Agent MUST SIGN the Change of Agent form, but it does not need to be an original signature. If you file by fax or email, fill out page three with your credit card information.

Since annual reports are not filed with the Secretary of State in Alabama but with the Department of Revenue, you cannot change the registered agent at the same time as filing your annual report. 

How much does it cost to change your registered agent in Alabama?

There is a $25 fee required to change your registered agent in Alabama with the Secretary of State. Include an additional $100 for expedited document processing.
