How to get a Certificate of Good Standing from the Kansas Secretary of State

The State of Kansas provides a Certificate of Good Standing or a Letter of Good Standing. A Letter of Good Standing is uncertified. You can order by fax, mail, phone, in person or online, but we recommend online. Normal processing takes up to 3 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $20. Expedited service is not available because online processing is immediate.

Go to their website and follow the instructions provided to sign up, search and print a certificate. An email address will be required for order confirmation. You will be able to verify, view and print the certificate yourself immediately. You will want to have your credit card handy.

By Mail:
You will want to provide the business name, payment, specific request and a daytime phone number for any questions.

By Fax:
You will want to provide the business name, specific request and a daytime phone number for any questions on a normal fax cover sheet. You can provide your credit card by fax or by phone.

By Phone:
Called in requests are accepted and they can give you a specific timeframe for processing. You will want to have the business name and credit card handy when making your call.

In Person:
Requested documents can usually be provided the same day, but may take up to 3 days. You will want to have your payment handy.
