How to file your Louisiana Commercial Division Annual Report:
There are two options for filing your Louisiana Annual Report. They are:
- File the paper report form that you print out after searching your business name at the Secretary of State website. See below. If your report is due you will have a link for printing it out. You can mail it or fax it in with the filing fee.
- The most preferred option is to file your report online at the link below. Click on ‘File Annual Report’ and enter your Charter Number and Renewal ID. These are on your reminder postcard. Call the division for your number and ID if you lose the card. Just fill it in and submit.
Charities must register and renew each year with the LA Department of Justice, Public Protection Division. A link to the forms may be found below. The form need to be mailed in with the renewal fee. LA Charities are required to also be registered as a nonprofit organization with the Louisiana Secretary of State.

Louisiana Nonprofits-domestic and foreign: exact anniversary date.
Louisiana LLCs and PLLCs-domestic and foreign: exact anniversary date.
Louisiana LLPs and LPs-domestic and foreign: exact anniversary date.
Louisiana Charities renewal: October 1st every year.
Does Louisiana have initial report requirements?
The initial report is attached to the formation articles. You have to complete the initial report when starting a business in Louisiana.
What are the penalty fees for a delinquent Annual Report?
None. After three years, Louisiana will finally dissolve or revoke you.
How do I get notified?
Louisiana mails a reminder postcard with your filing ID number to your company’s principal address.
