How to get a Certificate of Good Standing from the Louisiana Secretary of State
You can order a Certificate of Good Standing by fax, mail, in person, or online, but we recommend online. Normal processing takes up to 3 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $20.00. Expedited service is available for up to $50.00 more and should take less than 24 hours, plus additional time for mailing.

Online:
Type the business name (without the corporate ending, e.g. L.L.C. or Inc.) and click “search.” Choose your business name from the list provided. All business information will appear on your screen. As long as the corporation/company is in good standing, you will see a link that says, "Add Certificate of Good Standing to Shopping Cart." Click that link and follow the instructions to enter your credit card for payment. Your certificate will print out immediately.
By Mail:You will want to provide the business name, payment, specific request and a daytime phone number for any questions.
By Fax:You will want to provide the business name, specific request, credit card information and a daytime phone number for any questions on a normal fax cover sheet. Additional fees apply for credit card processing.
In Person:You can request non-expedited processing and leave your phone number for them to call you when the processing is completed. A $30.00 fee is optional for 24 hour processing. An additional $50.00 fee is optional for expedited counter service while you wait. You will want to be sure to arrive prior to 4:00 p.m. Have your payment handy.
