You amend the articles of your Louisiana Corporation by submitting in duplicate the BCA 10.30, Articles of Amendment form by mail or in person along with the filing fee to the Louisiana Secretary of State. If you are a domestic corporation in good standing and the only amendment you need is a name change to your business, you can file it online at the link found below.

Are there any specifics you can or can’t include with a Louisiana Corporation amendment?

You may change your corporate name, your corporate purpose, reclassify your shares or change the paid-in capital of your corporation in Articles of Amendment. If your amendment increases the paid-in capital of your corporation, you will be required to pay all franchise tax before the amendment is accepted for filing. How much does a Louisiana Corporation amendment cost?

To amend your corporation in Louisiana, there is a $50 filing fee required. You may request expedited processing if you walk the amendment into the Springfield or Chicago offices for an additional $100. Online filing of the amendment (name change only) costs $153.75.

How long does it take the state to process a Louisiana Corporation amendment?

Normal processing:  Seven to ten days.
Expedited processing:  24 hours.
Online filing:  24 hours.

How will the Louisiana Corporation amendment be returned?

Louisiana will mail you a receipt confirming that your amendment was processed along with the stamped duplicate.
