How to get a Certificate of Good Standing from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

You can order a certificate of good standing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by mail, in person, or online, but we recommend online. Online processing costs $15.00 and the certificate will be emailed to you the same day. Normal processing takes up to 5 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $12.00. Expedited service is available for $3.00 more and is sent out the next business day.

Go to their website and fill in the online form provided. If you check the box requesting it to be emailed, the certificate will be emailed to you the same day. Otherwise, this type of order is considered expedited and the certificate will be sent out to you the next business day. For faster mailing, you can provide a Fed Ex or UPS account number. You will want to have your credit card handy.


By Mail:

Requests by mail will be expedited only if paying the additional fee. Faster mailing available by providing a Fed Ex or UPS account number. You will want to provide the business name, payment, return address information, specific request and a daytime phone number for any questions.

In Person:

Requested documents will be provided while you wait at no additional charge. You will want to have your payment handy.
