How to get a Certificate of Good Standing from the Missouri Secretary of State

A certificate of good standing in the State of Missouri can be ordered by fax, mail, email, in person, or online, but we recommend online. Online processing costs $10.00 and is immediate. Normal processing takes up to 5 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $10.00. Expedited service is not available.

Online:

Go to their website and follow the instructions provided to sign up for an e-account by clicking on Register for Online Order (far left of the screen), if you do not have one. You will be able to set up your account and order your certificate right away. Then you can login to search and print the certificate. You will be able to view and print the certificate yourself right away. Note: If the document is older and has not been scanned into their system yet, it may take up to 3 days for processing.


By Mail:

You will want to provide the business name, payment, return address information, specific request and a daytime phone number for any questions.

By Fax:

You will want to provide the business name, specific request and a daytime phone number for any questions on a normal fax cover sheet.

By Email:

You can request a certificate by email, however, they recommend faxing because the processing will be quicker.

In Person:

You may want to call a day or so in advance, if you are planning to come in to request a certificate in person. That way they can have it ready for you to pick up when you come in. Requested documents can usually be provided within 1 hour. You will want to have your payment handy.
