To resign as registered agent from a business entity in Alabama, you must provide the completed Registered Agent Resignation Notice in duplicate to the Secretary of State, Business Services Division by mail or in person only. You must also deliver a copy of the notice to the entity. Find and download the notice at the Alabama Secretary of State Web site link found below.

You deliver notice of your resignation to the entity by sending them a copy of the Resignation Notice.
