It is really easy to resign as a registered agent in Kentucky. All you have to do is provide a signed Statement of Resignation of Registered Agent and one exact copy to the Kentucky Secretary of State (SOS) by mail or in person. If the SOS forms do not meet your needs, you may not attach additional documentation, but you may draft your own resignation.

You do not have to notify the business of your resignation because the Kentucky SOS will send a file stamped postcard to the business’s principal office address.
