How to resign as registered agent in Utah:

To resign as registered agent in Utah, you must provide the completed Commercial Registered Agent Resignation form to the Utah Division of Corporations & Commercial Code by mail, fax or in person. If faxing your resignation, Fax Cover Letter, is required.
A noncommercial registered agent resigns in the same way with the same form even though the form only refers to commercial registered agents.

Do you have to notify the Utah entity you’re serving as registered agent for before you resign or after?

Yes, you must promptly furnish the represented entity, written notice of the resignation and the date on which the resignation was filed.

Normal Processing:  5 to 7 days.
Fax Processing:  5 to 7 days.

The registered agent resignation will take effect on the 31st day after the date on which it is filed.
