Pros
Texas is awesome for small businesses. There is no personal income tax, but there is a gross receipts tax of 1%. The great thing is that your first million dollars of revenue is tax free; making doing business in Texas tax free for most small businesses.
Cons
There are a lot of bad things about simply functioning as a Texas business. The Texas SOS does not allow you to do name searches. They charge you $1.00. Everything is cumbersome and half way done with the Texas Secretary of State. It’s like there was a project 10 years ago to redevelop the entire department into current technology and it lost its funding and it just stopped. So close to making things easy for TX businesses, but so far away.
