How to get a Certificate of Status from the Washington Secretary of StateA certificate of good standing in Washington State is called a Certificate of Status or a Certificate of Existence. You can order by fax, mail or phone, but we recommend faxing. Normal processing takes up to 5 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $20.00. By Mail: Requests by mail will be expedited only if paying the additional fee and writing “EXPEDITE” on the envelope. You will want to provide the business name, specific request and a daytime phone number for any questions.
