Are there any weird things about registering in Ohio?
County filing or publication is not necessary, unless specifically required by the county in which your registered agent resides.
Ohio is one of the few states for nonprofit LLCs. Nonprofit LLCs Filing with the Ohio Secretary of State’s office is not sufficient to obtain state or federal tax exemptions. The Secretary of State does not grant tax-exempt status. You must contact the Ohio Department of Taxation and the Internal Revenue Service to ensure that the nonprofit limited liability company secures the proper state and federal tax exemptions.
Are there ongoing Ohio annual report and/or initial reporting requirements?
Non-profit LLCs may need to file a Continued Existence of a non-profit in Ohio every 5 years. You will want to verify if your company is required to do this or not with the Secretary of State. No other LLC reporting is required.
