HOW TO ORDER AN APOSTILLE CERTIFICATE FROM THE NORTH CAROLINA SECRETARY OF STATE
An original or certified copy is required. You can order a certified copy of your articles and request an Apostille at the same time. We recommend calling in your order, only if you are requesting the certified copy at the same time. Normal processing takes up to 5 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $10. Expedited service is not available. Always provide the name of the country needing a North Carolina Apostille or Certificate of Authentication.

Cover letter must include the name of the country, payment, address the documents should be mailed to after processing, and a daytime phone number for possible questions. You must enclose an original or certified copy of the document, or a request for a certified copy of the document.
Called in requests are accepted and they can give you a specific timeframe for processing. You will want to have the business name handy when making your call. They will invoice you for the amount of fees due.
Requested documents can be provided the same day only if received before 10:00 am and less than 31 documents. Usually documents can be picked up the next business day after 11:00 am. You can call 919-807-2225 to check on the status of your order. You must provide a certified copy or original document. You will want to have your payment handy.
Do you need to order a certified copy at the same time or does the fee include a certified copy?
A North Carolina certified copy can be ordered at the same time. This fee does not include a certified copy.
