How to get a Certificate of Good Standing from the New Hampshire Secretary of State

A certificate of good standing can be ordered by mail or in person, but we recommend mailing. Normal processing takes up to 7 days, plus additional time for mailing, and costs $5.00. Expedited service is available for $25.00 more and should take less than 1 hour, plus additional time for mailing.

By Mail:

Requests by mail will be expedited only if paying the additional fee and specifically requesting expedited service. You will want to provide the business name, payment, return address information, specific request and a daytime phone number for any questions.

In Person:

An additional $25.00 fee is required for counter service and is considered expedited processing. Requested documents can usually be provided within 1 hour. You will want to have your payment handy. Their office hours for walk in service are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.


How much does a New Hampshire Certificate of Good Standing cost?

$5.00 for normal processing.
$30.00 for expedited processing.


Is expedited processing available?

Yes. An expedited service fee of $25.00 is required, in addition to the regular $5.00 fee.

How will the Certificate of Good Standing come back after I order from the New Hampshire Secretary of State?

It will be mailed by regular mail, unless you request otherwise and provide a pre-addressed prepaid envelope or UPS/Fed Ex account number. They will fax a copy of the certificate to you, upon request, but the original will also be mailed. Return service by email is not available.
