To resign as a registered agent in Alaska, you must submit two copies of a Registered Agent Notice of Resignation to the State of Alaska Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, Corporations Section with $25 for processing by mail, fax or in-person. The Steps To Resign As An Alaska Registered Agent:

  1. Submit two copies of the Registered Agent Notice of Resignation to the State of Alaska Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing with $25 for processing by mail, fax or in-person. Use the appropriate resignation form depending on entity type.

The Alaska registered agent’s resignation is effective thirty days after the state receives their notice or when the company appoints a new registered agent, whichever comes first.

Items To Include On The Alaska Resignation Of Registered Agent

The following items must be on the Alaska registered agent’s statement of resignation:

  1. Name of entity and entity number
  2. Latest physical and mailing address of the entity
  3. Names, addresses and titles of the most recent officials
  4. A statement that the agent resigns
  5. Registered agent’s signature along with the name of the corporation the signatory represents, if they represent a corporation. If the registered agent is a corporation, the resignation must be executed by the president or vice president.
  6. Include the contact information sheet

Must The Registered Agent Notify The Company Before Filing Resignation With Alaska?

No. After the Alaska registered agent submits their resignation to the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, the Alaska Commissioner will immediately mail a copy of the notice to the company the agent had been representing.

Is There A Fee To Resign As A Registered Agent In Alaska?

Yes. The fee to resign as an Alaska registered agent is $25. Payment can be made by cash (in-person only), check (in-person or by mail) or credit card (in-person, by mail or fax). Make checks payable to “State of Alaska/CBPL”. If paying by credit card via mail or fax, you must include the credit card payment form that the Division provides. Make sure to use the appropriate form depending on which office you are submitting the form to (Juneau or Anchorage). Only VISA and MasterCard are accepted.
