Steps to Changing Your Arizona Registered Agent

If you would like to change your registered agent in Arizona (also known as a “statutory agent”), you will need to complete the following three general steps:

  1. Select a new Arizona statutory agent. If you hire Northwest for our statutory agent service, you can just as well stop reading now. We’ll handle the state filing for you and pay your filing fee.
  2. Notify your former statutory agent that you’re moving on.
  3. Complete and submit your Arizona Statement of Change to the ACC.

What are the options and different ways you can change your Arizona statutory agent?

Corporations can change their Arizona statutory agent when they file their annual report, an amendment, or Form AR: 0009Corporation Statement of Change of Known Place of Business or Statutory Agent with the Arizona Corporations Commission (ACC).

LLCs can change their statutory agent when they file an amendment or Form LL: 0006, Limited Liability Company Statement of Address Change and Statement of Statutory Agent Change with the ACC.

Your Arizona statutory agent must accept the appointment. There is a section on the Statement of Change form that must be completed and signed by the statutory agent. If you sign up for our statutory agent service, we provide the signed forms in your account so you can use them instantly. You can submit the statement of change to the ACC by mail, fax, or in person. Arizona requires that you include their corporate cover sheet when filing documents.

When filing by fax, you must make arrangements for payment of filing fees. Usually, this means contacting the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) to set up a Money on Deposit account.

For the steps to take to ensure your former agent’s service and obligations come to an end, see our Arizona registered agent resignation page.
