After you have received your Letter of Determination (501c3 Status) from the IRS and your certificate of incorporation from the Georgia secretary of state, attach those documents and your formation documents to the applicable, initial exempt organization tax return filed with the State of Georgia.

Is my nonprofit exempt from income taxes?

You can submit Form 3605 (The Application for Recognition of Exemption) to the Georgia Income Tax Division. Along with the form you will need to submit your Georgia nonprofit’s Articles of Incorporation, bylaws, statement of activities in Georgia, and a copy of your Letter of Determination from the IRS.
