To get a Certificate of Good Standing for your New Mexico business, log in to your account on the New Mexico Secretary of State’s online filing portal. You can request certificates from the My Records section of the account interface.
How much does a New Mexico Certificate of Good Standing cost?
The cost of a New Mexico Certificate of Good Standing varies depending on what type of business you have. The fee to get a certificate for a New Mexico profit corporation is $50, while New Mexico LLCs and nonprofit corporations carry a $25 fee. There is also an additional $2 processing charge for all online credit or debit card transactions.
How long does it take to get a New Mexico Certificate of Good Standing?
Certificates of Good Standing are processed instantly. Once you’ve paid the fee, you can immediately print your certificate from the My Work Queue section of your account interface. However, the certificate only stays in the work queue for 90 days, after which you will need to request a new Certificate of Good Standing.
Note: When applying to do business in another state, certificates of good standing from your home state must be issued within a certain time frame. In most states, save for a handful of exceptions, this period is usually 90 days or less before submitting your application for foreign qualification. So in most cases, you’ll need the New Mexico Certificate of Good Standing before it leaves your online work queue.
