How to File an Alaska LLC Amendment
To amend the Articles of Organization for an Alaska LLC, you must file the Articles of Amendment form with the State of Alaska, Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing. Amend Articles of Organization for an Alaska LLC
Over time, you may need to update the information you provided on your initial Articles of Organization. Many of these amendments can be made by filing an Alaska Articles of Amendment.
When do I need to file an Alaska LLC Articles of Amendment?
Your Alaska LLC must file an Articles of Amendment to update business information such as your LLC’s name. However, the following changes can’t be made by filing an amendment.
- Principal/mailing address: Update this information by filing an Entity Address Change form OR make the change on your biennial report.
- Registered agent: Submit form 08-492, Statement of Change Domestic LLC, to update your Alaska registered agent. There is a $25 filing fee.
- Members or managers: Make changes on your biennial report OR by filing a Notice of Change of Officials form ($25).
What information should I include on my Articles of Amendment?
The following information must be included on your Articles of Amendment:
- Business name: Provide the LLC’s name currently on record with the state.
- Alaska entity number: List your LLC’s ID number assigned by the secretary of state. If you don’t know your number, you can search the Alaska business database.
- Formation date: Include the month, day, and year your LLC was initially formed.
- Amendment(s): Enter all new amendments. You may include an additional sheet of paper if necessary.
- Signature: Sign the amendment and print the full name and title of the individual filing. The form must be signed by a member, manager, or attorney-in-fact.
- Contact information: Indicate the individual the state may notify regarding any issues with your amendment. This information will only be used for contact purposes and will not be listed on public record.
- Fees: Include a payment for $25. There is no option for expedited processing.
If your LLC has any delinquent biennial reports, your amendment will be rejected. In addition, member/manager information must be current with the state. You can search the Alaska Business Database to make sure your LLC is in good standing.
How do I file an Alaska Articles of Amendment?
An Alaska LLC Articles of Amendment can be submitted in person, by fax, or through US mail. The $25 filing fee can be paid by check, money order, or credit card. All checks and money orders must be made payable to State of Alaska/CBPL.

Yes, you can restate the initial articles instead of filing an amendment. Simply file the Restated Articles of Organization (Form 08-486). The filing fee is the same—$25.
